Babies love keys and moms (well, at least this mom) are often tempted to just hand the keys over to keep baby quiet and entertained while standing in line at the grocery store.  Right?  But keys have been lots of places and a baby’s mouth should not be one of them.  So when I came across these adorable, non-toxic, stainless steel Kleynamils I thought they were a fantastic idea.  You could just stash these in your purse for those “baby needs a distraction” moments and hand them these “keys.”  They sell for $24 and you can have them engraved too.



Kids

 I saw this Schylling Sock Monkey Umbrella the other day and thought it was so cute!  My kids love umbrellas and because of that they make great gifts for them.  I like to find umbrellas that are characters or styles I know my kids will like.  Amazon has a good selection of umbrellas for kids by brands like Western Chief and Stephen Joseph.  They have everything from ladybugs and Hello Kitty to Batman and robots. Many of them have matching rain gear and rainboots too.

Mama Mio Body and Skin Care (and a great Giveaway!)

Mommies, have I got a recommendation for you!  I really think you are going to love thisstuff!  I recently got my hands onbottles of Mama Mio Omega Body Buff and Skin Tight. I was excited to try them but I didn’t anticipate them becoming my favorite new skin care products.

First, I have to tell you about the Omega Body Buffscrub.  This stuff goes on right beforeyou get in the shower.  You rub itanywhere your skin could use some softening and it’s gentle enough to use onyour face too.  I make sure to scrub my hands and feet once I am done scrubbing the rest of me and my hands and feet have become so super soft!

I couldn’t get over thescent!  This stuff smells A-MAZING and I almost felt as if I had been transported to a spa (as opposed to my shower that really needed cleaning) as I smoothed it on.  That may sound silly but I promise this stuffsmells fantastic!  It’s a little sad thatyou have to wash the smell of this stuff off in the shower but you won’t mindonce you feel how silky smooth your skin is afterwards (a little bit of the scent remains).  It only took me using it once and I knew thiswas my new favorite, must have, body (and face) scrub!  I could not recommendit more! 


The Skin Tight is pretty amazing as well.  It is for anywhere your skin could use sometightening.  Mama Mio is honest and doesn’t claim instantresults but they recommend you use it at least 30 days to see results.  Every time I use it I do feel tightening and I can tell it’s working.  Skin tight goes on easily and absorbs anddries quickly.  You can even use it onyour face to wake up tired looking skin (um, us mommies, need this often!).

Mama Mio makes many other products (all of which I can’twait to try after these wonderful products!). All of their products are free of the yucky stuff and are good for your skin.  I believe that if you try them you will be really happy you did.

Remember Caboodles?  I had one when I was a teen and loved it. Now my girls (the 7, 11 &13 year olds) love them! Caboodles has several different styles of cases like the classic one pictured above as well as train cases, mini cases, travel cases and more.
Caboodles are actually my go to gift for tweens & early teens right now.   The younger girls can use them to keep barbie clothing and accessories neat and tidy or to keep art supplies in. Constructive Eating ConstructionChildrens Plate for use with Constructive Eating Utensils

Do you know any little boy who wouldn’t love to play with his food with a bulldozer, fork lift and front loader?  These utensils from Constructive Eating give them permission to do just that.  They come together as a set of 3 or individually as a bull dozer pusher, a fork lift fork and a front loader spoon.  My son received these as a gift when he was 3 and has used them for just about every meal since (he is now 6).  In fact there have even been some tears shed when they were still getting cleaned in the dishwasher. We just recently discovered that the company has a plate out that goes with the utensils.  We haven’t used it yet but it looks as if it would be a lot of fun.  It is a divided plate with a ramp and a place for the utensils to sit. Mommy Kudos Gift Guide: Day 10

 Did you know there are only 40 more days until Christmas? It will be here before we know it! Here are the gift ideas for today:

I cannot really think of anything moms like more than being on top of their to do lists and having a clean home (so they can spend more time with their precious kids). Getting floors clean can be such a time consuming task.  For this reason I have been eyeing the Mint floor cleaner for months now. Why?  Because it’s a robot…that cleans your floors for you!  

Mint is a genius little robot that sweeps and mops your floors so that bare feet are always welcome in your home.  It is smart enough to know where it’s already been and where it still needs to clean.   Just put on a reusable microfiber or a disposable cleaning cloth, turn it on and watch it go to work while you instantly gain an extra hour or two.  Pretty amazing eh?!

The Mint 4200 retails for $199 and the new Mint Plus 5200 retails for $299.  The Mint Plus recharges faster and has a longer battery life as well as additional features.

When I was looking for a highchair for my last baby I was really wanting something sturdy that would last.  With 5 kids already I had been through 3 highchairs and I wasn’t crazy about any of them.  They were hard to clean, big and bulky, and unsightly. 
When I came accross the Stokke Tripp Trapp Highchair I knew it was the one for me.  It has amazing reviews everywhere and there are great reasons for that.  This chair is one that will last us for many years to come (It may seem crazy to think about now but I will have grandchildren one day).  It grows with your child and is super sturdy.  I LOVE that this chair pushes right up to the table so that your little one can sit with you.  There are attachments to add support for smaller babies too.  
The Stokke Tripp Trapp Highchair by far, has been the easiest to clean.  It is fairly easy to adjust too.  I have not regretted this high chair purchase for a second and recommend it to my friends when they ask about a good highchair.  The Stokke chair is a gift that will keep giving for years to come.


Kids

This is such a great book for girls who are interested in art or fashion.  My girls have had so much fun with this!  Paper Fashions by Klutz has everything you need to design your own unique paper fashions. Plastic stencil shapes are included to make it simple to trace pants, purses, skirts, scarves, sweaters, shoes and more. You get to pick from many different double-sided, acid-free patterned papers for your designs. Add final touches to designs with sequins, ribbon and other decorative items. If that isn’t enough cuteness for you, then hang your outfits on the included tiny hangers and display them however you would like. Suggested ages are 8 and up.
