Add Great Flair to Backbacks for Back to School with PakNaks {and a giveaway!}

Have a backpack from last year that could use a little updating?  Did you purchase new backpacks for your kids this year but want them to stand out from all the other backpacks?  My kids and I have discovered how great Paknaks are at solving those problems.

We first got to try out Paknaks back in April and they were perfect for updating backpacks and lunchboxes with characters that my kids like.  We enjoyed them so much that after doing a review for them we ended up ordering a few more for each of my kids. Each one of my kids picked out their favorites and we added them to their bags.

Paknaks are so easy to put on and are instant decorations.  PakNak.com has a wide variety of designs such as a dinosaur, ladybug, butterfly, football, monkey, turtle, and many more.  They are all so cute you will want to get several!  No more trying to pick a design your kids will want to use all year. Just pull the design off the velcro and place another one on.  They are so easy to put on just about any item you can think of wanting to add some flair to.

PakNaks are great to tuck in a “just because I love you!” note sent to school, for birthday party favors, or stocking stuffers too!!

If you would like to purchase any of the great PakNak designs you can get 20% off.  Just visit their website and enter PAK20 at checkout.  Don’t miss their free printable coloring pages (as cute as can be)!

Great Children’s Book for a Great Cause plus a Giveaway

As you can imagine we have a big variety of likes in my home when it comes to books.  My oldest daughters love mysteries, my son cannot get enough of super heroes, my middle daughter is all about princesses and ballet, and my youngest loves all things kitty cats.  I know that I can find books for each of my kids from Usborne in the variety of topics that my kids like.  I can usually tell when I come across an Usborne book.  They are quality books that have great, age appropriate, content and are full of great visuals and information.

We recently got to review the Usborne book “That’s Not My Kitten…”  My youngest is a little obsessed with kitty cats these days and is thrilled with this book.  It is super adorable.  The pictures are very sweet and every page has a different texture to feel which makes it even more exciting for a two year old to read.

If you haven’t ever checked out Usborne books I really encourage you to do so.  You can find a large range of books for boys and girls from infants to teens.  They have books on dinosaurs, vehicles, bugs, ballerinas, mysteries, science, and many many more subjects.  Their books are also great to use for homeschooling.

From now until the end of June you can purchase Usborne books AND give to a great cause at the same time.  Jessica is donating all of her commissions this month to Kids Cancer Crusade (KCC).  KCC believes that no family should go through childhood cancer alone and they aim to be there for the parents and siblings as well as the patient.  They help out with various care packages, family events and linking families with other helpful organizations throughout treatment and beyond.  Check out their website and get inspired to help out the children and the parents that they support.  Remember that you can help out by purchasing Usborne books through any of the links in this post.

Jessica is kindly offering a Mommy Kudos reader a chance to Win the Usborne book “That’s Not My Kitten…” or a book of your choice from Usborne under $10. If you would like to enter to win follow the instructions below and be sure to leave me an email address to be able to contact you should you win.

Dressing Kids with Style and Savings

Thank you Old Navy for sponsoring my post today about baby and toddler styles. Old Navy is giving you 30% off everything in their baby and toddler summer collection, plus get an additional 15% off in-store.

Sweet and sassy, cool and casual, hip, frilly with lace…  Kids seem to develop their own style regardless of how we choose to dress them.  Whether it’s always reaching for the dress when we want them to put on the cute capri pants outfit we just got, or always going for the soft t-shirts over the button up polos, kids seem to know what they like, and pretty early on.
Honestly my favorite styles for my kids are usually the ones that they come up with on their own.  I may pick out a sweet dress with sandals and before I can grab the sandals my daughter has pulled on some rain boots and it looks adorable.  I don’t always allow them to pick their clothes but I love it when their little personalities shine through what they wear.
I have learned over time to pick clothing for my kids that is cute and easy to keep looking nice.  I save the items that will need to be ironed for church or special occasions and stick with knits and fabrics that come out of the dryer without wrinkles.  We love the very affordable t-shirts and play clothes at Old Navy for every day wear.
We save money on clothes by shopping sales, clearance racks and stocking up on the out of season clothes for the next year. Shopping online is my favorite way to shop because it saves me the hassle of taking little ones out. I also like to shop for kids clothes at consignment stores and I look for certain brands that I know hold up well and are fashionable.  Another way we like to save on kids clothing is by holding a clothing swap and swapping clothes and shoes with friends.   It is lots of fun to get together and everyone walks away with some great new (to them) clothes.

What are the ways you like to save money on your kids clothing?  Does your little one have a unique style?  I would love to hear about it!
I was selected for this sponsorship by the Clever Girls Collective, which endorses Blog With Integrity, as I do.

Hello! SkinnyJeans Review & Giveaway

Hello! SkinnyJeans!  I’m not certain but I would guess you are supposed to say it like Hell-oooooo skinny jeans!! It is like a celebratory hello.  Think about the way you would say it to a good friend when you have always liked the way skinny jeans look on skinny girls but now you have them on and they actually look good on you.  Hellooo!!

I was pretty thrilled to get my hands on a pair of hello! Skinny Jeans!  I am, how should I put it…curvy… and I usually like to wear flared bottom jeans to offset the size of my hips and thighs.  I have had a love/hate relationship with skinny jeans in the past.  I love the way they look on someone so I try to find a pair that look good on me only to hate every. single. pair. that I try on.  They usually don’t flatter my figure at all.

My days of longing are over! I was sent the GreenJeans CoutureCut of Skinny Jeans to try.  When I first put on hello! Skinny Jeans I held my breath.  Not because I was trying to squeeze them on but because I was really hoping that these skinny jeans would actually look good on me.  Voila!  They are like magic, or as the description of them says “literally photoshops the body.”  These jeans lift and shape in all the right places while still being comfortable.  The thighs are very ‘scooped out’ separating and slimming the thighs. The Inseams are drawn forward, tricking the eye into seeing less on the front of the leg which is just brilliant! The jeans also have light and dark shading to make legs look thinner and longer. Did I mention that they are comfortable?  They suck you in in all the right spots but I wore them all day long and they felt great on.  So… skinny jeans that look great and are super comfy? I think that is a winning combination!

Yep, those are my legs in hello! SkinnyJeans.
Check out all of these before and after SkinnyJeans photos here.  I think you’ll be impressed!  SkinnyJeans also come in up to size 18 and they have inseams up to 37″!  They are showing some serious love to those of us who couldn’t normally wear skinny jeans!
So, after all of that, you would like a pair right?  To purchase a pair visit their shop here.  The jeans start at $149 and up.
The super lovely people at hello! SkinnyJeans are offering one of Mommy Kudos readers a chance to WIN a pair!  Follow the instructions bellow to enter! Be sure to leave a comment for each action and leave me an email address to be able to contact you should you win.

StriVectin-SD: Wrinkle Reducer & Stretch Mark Improver

Have you heard about the new clinical formula of StriVectin-SD? It is a bit pricey at $135 for a 5 fl. oz. tube but the claims are reduced wrinkles and stretch marks made lighter and smoother.  Expert clinical graders saw a 20% reduction in fine lines, 25% decrease in deep wrinkles, over 50% improvement in color for stretch marks and 20% improvement in discoloration. I have recently been given a chance to try some and I am excited to see what the long term results will be.

My second pregnancy was twins and I was stretched to the max.  I had hoped to avoid the dreaded road map of stretch marks but unfortunately I didn’t.  Some 11 years later I still have the remains of those stretch marks.  I am hoping with the continued use of StriVectin-SD they will be diminished the same way the untouched photos on their site show.  If it works it will be pretty exciting!

So far I like StriVectin-SD.  You don’t need to use a lot and it absorbs quickly.  It has a light, pleasant scent.  There are a lot of ingredients to read through on the package but it does not contain any Parabens which is important to me.  It is also free of dyes, mineral oil, Alcohol and petroleum.

If you would like try StriVectin-SD you can find it at Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, Lord & Taylor, Dillard’s, Sephora, Ulta, Beauty 360 and Strivectin.com.

Has anyone tried it?  I would like to hear your thoughts on it.  Has it worked well for you?
